KUWAIT CITY, Sept 13: The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) launched an awareness campaign on Saturday at The Avenues Mall to mark World First Aid Day, emphasizing the importance of first aid in saving lives and enhancing public safety.
World First Aid Day, observed annually on the second Saturday of September, promotes preliminary treatment for the injured until the arrival of specialized medical teams, as well as encourages voluntary participation in humanitarian efforts.
This year’s campaign, themed "First Aid and Climate Change," highlights the growing significance of first aid skills in managing emergencies related to environmental risks and disasters. It also aims to foster preventive behavior across various segments of society.
The KRCS underscored the value of training in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and public safety. Such training empowers individuals to respond confidently and effectively to accidents and disasters, contributing to a culture of safety and social responsibility.
The campaign reflects the critical role of first responders and volunteers as the first line of defense in protecting communities and supporting humanitarian initiatives.
