Move to control, reduce costs, improve operations

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 27: Kuwait Oil Company revealed that the company is keen on employing technology in most of its work in an effort to control, reduce costs and improve operations, while directing full attention to employment and training — especially with regard to employing nationals in the company or through contracts in which 662 people were appointed among the new Kuwaiti graduates and 3,780 jobs created over the last fiscal year 2019/2020, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily quoting an official source stated that Kuwait Oil Company strives to improve skills and human energies while providing an environment conducive for work in order to reach the highest levels of job satisfaction in their ranks. The company also seeks to attract Kuwaitis in an attempt to encourage national manpower.

The source said the total number of Kuwaiti employees in Kuwait Oil Company until the end of the fiscal year amounted to 9,500 employees (with the medical and nursing staff) out of the total number of employees numbering 11,550.

Thus, the percentage of Kuwaitization reaches 82.8 with the medical/nursing staff, and 89.9 percent without the latter. The source said Kuwait Oil Company pays attention to stimulating the work under the Kuwaitization system, with the aim of creating job opportunities for Kuwaitis in contracts, and to encourage to private sector to employ them, noting the company was able to provide about 3,780 jobs to maintain the Kuwaitization rate of 26.58% in the last fiscal year
