KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: The Kuwait National Petroleum Company aims to raise the production capacity of the Al-Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah refineries to no less than 800 thousand barrels per day during 2024, especially since most of the operating units in the two refineries are now operating at high capacity and with the highest levels of efficiency, reports Al-Seyassah daily Oil sources indicated that the estimated production of the two refineries during 2025 will not be less than 45 million metric tons, saying the meetings that include the Board of Directors of the KNPC with the management of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation always discuss the necessity of raising the efficiency of the Al-Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah refineries in light of the increasing global demand of refined petroleum products.

The sources revealed that the KNPC will announce the completion of replacing the 9 old electrical power substations of the Al-Ahmadi Refinery with the new electrical stations by the end of 2024, pointing out that the goal of this replacement is the need of the Al-Ahmadi Refinery for high-capacity electrical stations that will help it speed up permanent operation and in a way that guarantees and enhances all aspects of security and safety. It includes explosion-proof buildings, in addition to its importance in the electrical control system, which enhances the loads in the event of a power outage.
