Kim Kardashian shares bar exam results amid criticism of new legal drama ‘All’s Fair’

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 9: Reality star Kim Kardashian revealed on Saturday that she did not pass the bar exam she took in July, nearly six years after announcing her aspiration to become a practicing lawyer.

Posting on her Instagram Stories, Kardashian wrote, “Well… I’m not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV,” referencing her new role as divorce lawyer Allura Grant on Ryan Murphy’s Hulu series All’s Fair. She added, “Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up — just more studying and even more determination.”

Kardashian thanked her supporters for encouragement, noting, “Falling short isn’t failure — it’s fuel. I was so close to passing the exam, and that only motivates me even more. Let’s go!!!!!!!!!!!”

The announcement comes less than a week after the premiere of All’s Fair, which has received largely negative reviews. The Guardian called the series “fascinatingly, incomprehensibly, existentially terrible,” giving it a rare zero-star rating, while The Times described it as “may well be the worst television drama ever made.” Kardashian responded to the criticism with a tongue-in-cheek Instagram post highlighting both positive and negative viewer reviews, captioning it: “Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!?”

The Hulu series stars Kardashian alongside Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor, Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close, and Matthew Noszka, marking her second collaboration with Murphy after American Horror Story: Delicate.

Kardashian first announced her law studies in 2019 and passed the “baby bar” in 2021. Earlier this week, she noted the challenges of using AI tools while studying, saying during a Vanity Fair lie detector test that ChatGPT repeatedly provided inaccurate legal information, causing her to fail practice tests.

All’s Fair is now streaming on Hulu.
