Taylor Swift (left) and Kim Kardashian

LOS ANGELES, April 24: Kim Kardashian's Instagram follower count has taken a dip by 100,000 since the release of Taylor Swift's latest song, "thanK you aIMee," stirring speculation among fans about a possible reference to their ongoing feud.

Swift, the 34-year-old pop star, dropped her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, at midnight on Friday (April 19). Shortly after, she surprised fans with a "2am version" containing an additional 15 songs.

The drop in Kardashian's follower count followed closely after the album's release, with fans noting several hints in the track "thanK you aIMee" that seemingly alludes to the reality star. Particularly, the capitalization of the letters K, I, and M in the track, spelling out Kardashian's first name, caught fans' attention.

While neither Kardashian nor Swift have addressed these fan theories, Kardashian's Instagram following decreased from 364.3 million to 363 million over the weekend following the album's debut.

The lyrics of "thanK you aIMee" detail Swift's experience and gratitude towards someone named "Aimee" for their positive influence in her life. Lines like "All that time you were throwin' punches, I was buildin' somethin'" have sparked discussions among fans about its possible connection to Kardashian.

In light of the song's release, Swift's fans have flooded Kardashian's Instagram posts with references to the track, quoting lyrics like "Thank you aimee!!!!" and "All the time u were throwing punches…" in the comments section.

The feud between Kardashian and Swift traces back to the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when Kanye West, Kardashian's then-boyfriend, interrupted Swift's acceptance speech. Despite apparent reconciliations over the years, tensions reignited with the release of West's song "Famous" in 2016, followed by a leaked phone call between Swift and West, leading to a public dispute over its lyrics.

Swift later described the fallout from the incident as emotionally challenging, expressing how it impacted her career and personal life.

The Independent has reached out to representatives for both Swift and Kardashian for comment.
