Kelly Clarkson cancels first Las Vegas shows moments before debut

LAS VEGAS, July 5: Pop superstar Kelly Clarkson has postponed the highly anticipated opening of her Las Vegas residency just hours before taking the stage at Caesars Palace, citing vocal strain from intense rehearsals.

Clarkson was scheduled to kick off her “Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions” residency on July 4 at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, marking the first of 18 scheduled performances running through mid-November. However, in a heartfelt Instagram post, the Grammy-winning singer revealed that extensive preparations had taken a toll on her voice, leading to the cancellation of her July 4 and July 5 shows.

“We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans,” Clarkson wrote. “I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me, and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s opening at Caesars. The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice.”

She emphasized the need to protect her vocal health, saying, “I want the shows to be perfect for y’all, and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage. So I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.”

Despite the delay, Clarkson assured fans that the production is worth the wait. “The show is truly incredible,” she added. “The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong. I can’t wait to be back next weekend and show y’all what we’ve been working on.”

Announced in February, the Studio Sessions residency was designed as a more intimate experience for fans, marking Clarkson’s return to live performances on the Vegas Strip. The residency is now scheduled to resume next weekend, with Clarkson appearing intermittently through its conclusion on November 15.

Fans who held tickets for the postponed shows are encouraged to follow updates from Caesars Palace and official ticketing platforms for rescheduling or refund information.
