KBA: FIBA Congress in Manama key platform for global sports dialogue

MANAMA, May 17, (KUNA): Dhari Barjas, Chairman of the Kuwait Basketball Association, emphasized the significance of the FIBA Midterm Congress held in Manama, describing it as a vital platform for discussion, collaboration, and the exchange of international basketball expertise.

In remarks made during the main session of the congress—attended by 180 national federation delegates and over 500 international sports figures—Barjas highlighted Bahrain’s growing reputation as a premier host of global sports events. He noted that Bahrain’s successful hosting of the congress further strengthens the region’s role in promoting international athletic development.

Barjas also commended the efforts of FIBA President Sheikh Saud Al-Thani and the FIBA board for their dedication to a long-term strategic vision aimed at the sustained growth and improvement of basketball worldwide.

The congress opened with a special presentation introducing Bahrain and showcasing its rich heritage and position as a hub for international sports events.
