Players challenging for the ball during a Zain Premier League match.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 18: The second round of the Zain Premier League concludes with a single match between Kuwait Club and Fahaheel at Thamer Stadium, kicking off at 8:20 pm.

The Football Association postponed the match due to Kuwait Club’s participation in the AFC Champions League 2 playoff, where it secured a 1-0 victory against Bahrain's Al-Ahli in a match held last Wednesday in Manama.

Both Kuwait Club and Fahaheel are aiming for their second consecutive win, with Kuwait Club defeating Al-Qadisiyah 1-0 and Fahaheel overpowering Khaitan 4-1 in the first round. Kuwait Club is in good form, having beaten a tough opponent at the start of the league and also qualifying for the AFC Champions League 2 group stage. Fahaheel, on the other hand, hopes to capitalize on the high morale of its players after its resounding victory in the last match, though it knows the challenge ahead won’t be easy.

In the same round, Kazma and played a thrilling match with Kazma coming from behind to win 4-3 at the Friendship and Peace Stadium. Kazma secured its first win after a 0-2 loss to Al-Arabi in the opening round, while Salmiya missed the chance to notch its second victory after defeating Al-Nasr 3-1.

Salmiya took the lead through Brazilian Alex Lima in the 40th minute via a penalty, but Kazma responded with two goals from Brazilian Dudu, also from the spot, and Ahmed Al-Arsan, ending the first half 2-1. In the second half, Kazma added two more goals through Colombian Hansel Zapata and Dudu, completing their quartet. Salmiya struck back late with goals from Muhannad Al-Muhamid and Saif Al-Hashan, but Kazma held on for the win.
