Milad ends Salmiya hopes
KUWAIT CITY, May 24: Kazma crowned HH the Amir Cup champions for the ninth time in their history, after beating Salmiya 2-1 at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium on Tuesday. Players received the Cup from the representative of His Highness the Amir, the sponsor of the final match, His Highness the Deputy Amir, Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al Sabah.
Kazma dominated proceedings and it was not surprising when they struck first in the 24th minute, through Brazilian defender Alex Lima. Kazma increased the tempo after going behind but on numerous occasion were denied by excellent goalkeeping. However their reward came after recess in the 54th minute, courtesy a penalty which was successfully executed by Nasser Farag. The game became a ding dong affair as both sides traded attacks but Kazma had the last laugh in the 70th minute through Palestinian defender Michel Milad Salmiya fought to the last to win, but luck was not on their side, thus evaporating the dreams of the team and their coach, Mohamed Ibrahim, in winning third title under Ibrahim. Kazma ended the season in the best way after losing the Premier League title to their rivals Kuwait.
