LOS ANGELES, March 5, (Agencies): Kate Winslet has expressed her disapproval of Ozempic for weight loss, a type 2 diabetes drug that has gained popularity for its casual weight loss effects. The 48-year-old Mare of Easttown alum admitted to being unfamiliar with the drug, stating, “I actually don’t know what Ozempic is. All I know is that it’s some pill that people are taking or something like that.”

Despite the drug’s popularity in the United States, it has yet to make the same impact overseas. Winslet, while indulging in a pastry during the interview, became curious about Ozempic and inquired about its nature. Upon learning more, she expressed her lack of enthusiasm, humorously suggesting, “This sounds terrible. Let’s eat some more things!”

During the conversation, Winslet delved into her past experiences, particularly around the time of her breakout role as Rose DeWitt Bukater in Titanic alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in 1997. As a young woman, she faced relentless scrutiny from tabloids regarding her weight. She also revealed that she dealt with an eating disorder during that period but kept it private.

Winslet highlighted the challenges of receiving compliments related to weight loss, emphasizing that even positive remarks about her appearance were tied to her weight. She recalled how people would praise her for looking good after losing weight, a connection she refuses to entertain. Winslet has been vocal about her experiences with weight and body image in the past, aiming to challenge societal norms and perceptions.
