DUBAI, UAE, Nov 21: Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman, Al Habtoor Group and Founder, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation (KAHF) officially handed over a cheque for AED 1,710,740 to His Excellency Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director General, Dubai Health Authority who led a delegation to the Al Habtoor Group head office. Also present was Noora Mohammed Al Habtoor, granddaughter of Chairman Al Habtoor, and Abdul Salam Al Marzooqi, General Manager KAHF.

The funds were raised at a charity event organized by Hope, a breast cancer campaign launched in October by Noora Al Habtoor and Mariam Al Mazrooei, wife of Ahmad Al Habtoor, CEO, Al Habtoor Motors. Al Habtoor matched the amount raised on the night taking the final sum to more than AED 1.7m.

Al Habtoor said he was delighted with the amount raised through Hope. “It shows the giving nature of members of the Dubai community,” he said. “This is just the start of many initiatives for this worthy cause that we will run via the Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation. I would like to thank everyone who took part in the initiative, and I encourage more people to donate to help breast cancer sufferers and their families. Funding breast cancer research is incredibly important if we want to eradicate this disease.”

The funds raised by Hope will be used to support and treat breast cancer patients with the support of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Friends of Cancer Patients Society.
