‘Juha’ and Governor’s mule

In the past mules, donkeys, horses and camels were considered means of transport similar to what cars are today. Their use differed from one environment to another, so mules were used to climb mountainous areas, horses galloped in the plains, and the camels remained true to its name ‘the ship of the desert’ and so on … and some of them were dear to their owners because of their scarcity or intelligence.

It is said that one of the governors owned a favorite smart mule. To take advantage of the mule’s intelligence, the governor decided to teach it to read and offered a big prize to those who succeed in the task, with the threat of putting to death those who failed. As usual, there are always those who volunteer to do such impossible tasks, and the result was that all of them lost their lives, so the rest of the morons stopped entering the challenge.

The governor doubled the amount of the prize and after waiting for a short time, Juha presented himself to the governor and accepted the challenge and left the governor’s palace, dragging the mule behind him with a heavy cloth bag of money.

People gathered around Juha mocking his stupidity, and lamenting his inevitable death with the sword of the governor, but Juha silenced them, saying that he asked the governor to pay him the prize money in advance, and to give him five years to teach the mule to read, even write, and he had what he wanted. Then Juha paused a little and continued his famous saying: I will enjoy the money for five years, during which either the governor will die, or I will die, or the stupid mule will die.

It seems that the decision to distribute plots for construction in Mutla’a and South Abdullah Al-Mubarak was issued with a political background and desire despite all the warnings expressed by more than one competent authority. There is still no logistical plan for the region or for how to finance the required loans, nor clear answers to many vital questions.

The number of houses in the project is 13,000 units and their owners will receive easy-to-pay loans from the state without any interest in the range of approximately one billion dinars, or more than three billion dollars, this is in addition to what was spent and will be spent on the project in terms of infrastructure, roads, bridges and all other miscellaneous services to create a residential area for nearly four hundred thousand people.

Insisting on proceeding with granting of licenses and allowing large number of citizens to build in these difficult circumstances is a unwise decision and a building disaster and chaos will inevitably follow. With half that amount and ten percent of the land area, it was possible to build the most beautiful residential complex with all modern services, but it seems that I am talking to myself a lot.

We will discover the extent of the problem within a few years, and we will search for the responsible person to hold him responsible, and we will then discover that he was dismissed, retired, or died. I suggest returning to read the story of Juha and the mule of the governor.
