A Jordanian woman and her husband face deportation for begging in Kuwait.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 10: As part of ongoing security efforts to curb negative behaviors and uphold public order, the Criminal Security Sector, through the Department for the Protection of Public Morals and Combating Human Trafficking, in cooperation with the Public Security Sector, has apprehended a Jordanian woman on charges of begging in Kuwait.

The woman, identified as Suraya Ali Darwish Khabra (born 2004), was detained by the West Abdullah Al-Mubarak Police Station. Subsequent investigations revealed that her husband, Raed Akef Hussein (Jordanian, born 1990), who serves as her sponsor, was also arrested. Legal procedures have been initiated against both individuals in preparation for their deportation.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that all necessary legal measures will be taken against the violator and her sponsor, including deportation, and emphasized that those responsible will be held accountable. The Ministry reiterated its commitment to ongoing security efforts aimed at combating all forms of begging, which are harmful to society and violate the law.
