Is Kate Middleton Okay? Health concerns return after cancer battle

LONDON, Aug 5: Concerns over the health of Catherine, Princess of Wales, have resurfaced following her recent public appearances, where royal observers noted her noticeably thinner frame just months after she revealed she was in remission from cancer.

Sources close to the future Queen say the 43-year-old has appeared increasingly frail this summer, with limited public engagements and a physical transformation that has raised alarm among royal watchers and palace insiders alike.

Kate Middleton, who stunned the world earlier this year with news of her cancer diagnosis, had previously stepped back from public duties. Her condition had prompted widespread speculation before she addressed it publicly, seeking to quell rumors about her absence from royal life.

Palace insiders have told media outlets that the Princess of Wales may now weigh approximately 90 pounds — a noticeable drop that has sparked concern not only from the public but also from medical professionals.

“Word is she’s having a difficult time and has no appetite,” one source said. “She’s gaunt and has little to no muscle tone.”

Medical expert Dr. Gabe Mirkin, speaking to RadarOnline, said such weight loss could stem from several complications related to cancer treatment.

“This severe weight loss can be caused by the chemotherapy itself, not eating enough because she doesn't feel very well, or treatment failure for her cancer,” Mirkin explained.

According to reports, the severity of Kate’s health battle may have been greater than initially made public. Those close to the royal family suggest that her recent appearance is a reminder of how physically taxing her cancer treatment has been.

“She was really seriously ill last year,” one palace insider stated. “People often underestimate how long it takes to recover from chemotherapy. You can feel unwell for a very long time. In some cases, it takes years.”

In June, the Princess was notably absent from the Royal Ascot, one of the most prestigious events in the royal calendar. While her decision not to attend surprised many, insiders believe it was a calculated move to protect her well-being amid the UK’s intense summer heat.

“She’s listening to her body instead of being a people pleaser,” royal commentator Ingrid Seward said. “She’s absolutely got to be strict with herself and say, ‘No, I can’t do this.’”

Kate’s decision to step back underscores her evolving priorities as she continues her recovery.

Despite ongoing health challenges, the Princess of Wales made a striking appearance at Wimbledon in July. Accompanied by her daughter Princess Charlotte and sister Pippa Middleton, she received a standing ovation as she entered Centre Court for the women’s final.

Wearing a tailored white blazer and cream skirt, Kate looked polished and composed as she fulfilled her role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. She later presented the winner’s trophy, marking a symbolic return to royal life.

Away from the public spotlight, Kate has continued to lend her artistic expertise to royal projects. In June, she served as guest curator for a new exhibition at the V&A East Storehouse, titled Makers and Creators. The display reflects her personal taste and lifelong passion for the arts, drawing on her background in art history.

Among her curated items are a vintage ballet costume designed by Oliver Messel, a 19th-century Welsh bedcover, and an original watercolor by Beatrix Potter. The collection also includes personal memorabilia, such as a childhood photo album once owned by Potter’s father.

While Kate’s strength and grace in the face of illness have been widely praised, her physical appearance and absence from several key royal events continue to spark speculation about her long-term health.

It remains to be seen whether the Princess or the Palace will address these concerns directly. For now, the public continues to watch and hope for her full recovery.
