KUWAIT CITY, July 13: Chargés d’Affaires of the Iranian Embassy Ibrahim Norouzi has confirmed the extradition of 11 Iranian prisoners from Kuwait to serve their prison sentence in their home country — near their families, reports Al-Qabas daily. In a statement to the daily, Norouzi disclosed that the extradition process was completed in cooperation with the concerned Kuwaiti authorities.

He affirmed the strength of coordination between Kuwait and Tehran on the extradition of prisoners. He said about 100 prisoners have been extradited between the two countries over the past years. He added this procedure is in line with the judicial cooperation agreement between the two countries and the result of efforts exerted by the joint consular committee. He also pointed out this is a confirmation of the statement of Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian on his commitment to take care of the Iranian community.
