KUWAIT CITY, Feb 10: The Ministry of Interior has issued instructions to all security departments to take stringent measures in the face of threats issued by terrorist groups to carry out sabotage activities in the country, reports Al-Anba daily quoting knowledgeable sources.

According to a circular said to have been issued by the ministry the security departments are required to take all precautionary measures by increasing the number of patrols around vital installations, main power transformers, places of worship, roundabouts, main roads, market places and commercial complexes and official convoys in addition to raising the level of coordination between various sectors and departments within the ministry. A security source said the instructions call for increasing the deployment of patrols in all provinces including plainclothesmen particularly in high density market places and commercial malls.

The instructions also call for ensuring quick response in case of attempts by groups or individuals to tamper with the security and stability of the country, increase surveillance on suspicious elements, places of vital importance and exploitation of all human resources to fill the vacuum if any. The sources added, the ministry has stressed on commitment to duty and readiness to tackle any unforeseen events.
