KUWAIT CITY, Jan 13: The Joint Committee formed by the Council of Ministers launched an expanded inspection campaign on a group of cafés in Hawalli region to eliminate some negative phenomena, regulate the labor and arrest violators of the labor laws especially those reported absconding by their sponsors and places ‘service’ is provided for men only, reports Al- Anba daily.

The daily quoting security sources said the campaign started at 8 pm yesterday and arrest of 13 violators of labor and residence laws. During the campaign the inspectors also issued citations to a number of café owners and said if the violations are not corrected before re-inspection necessary legal action will be taken against them.

On the sidelines of the campaign, the Deputy Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower for the Protection Sector and Chairman of the Joint Committee Dr Mubarak Al-Jafour said this campaign comes within the framework of a series of intensive campaigns which are being launched by members of the Joint Committee to regulate the labor market and arrest violators of labor and residence laws
