KUWAIT CITY, Dec 6: Director of Information Security and Emergency Response Department at the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) Layali Al-Mansoori revealed that the initiative to identify callers from government agencies and well-known commercial and financial institutions has entered the testing stage and the actual application will take place soon, reports Al- Anba daily. Al-Mansoori clarified that Kuwaiti telecommunications companies and several entities and institutions appearing on individuals’ telephones are also being identified by their names, not just their numbers. Al-Mansouri confirmed that the authority, in coordination with Kuwaiti telecommunications companies, has determined all the regulatory and technical matters related to identifying the callers on telecommunications networks; stressing that the actual testing phase began and it is expected to be completed this month.
