Bomb threat on IndiGo flight triggers security measures at Mumbai Airport.

MUMBAI, June 19: A Mumbai-bound IndiGo flight originating from Chennai encountered a bomb threat on Tuesday, prompting swift action from authorities. The flight landed safely at Mumbai airport at approximately 10:30 pm local time.

Confirming the incident, IndiGo issued a statement, assuring that all necessary protocols were followed and that passenger safety remained the top priority. "IndiGo flight 6E 5149, operating from Chennai to Mumbai, had received a bomb threat. Upon landing in Mumbai, the crew followed protocol, and the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay," the airline stated. "All passengers have safely disembarked the aircraft. We are working closely with security agencies, and after completion of all security checks, the aircraft will be positioned back in the terminal area."

This occurrence follows a bomb threat email received by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters in Mumbai earlier the same day. According to reports from news agency ANI, an unknown individual threatened to detonate explosives at the headquarters. In response, local police conducted a thorough search of the premises, ultimately determining that no suspicious items were found.

In light of these events, authorities have heightened security measures to ensure the safety and well-being of the public.
