Indian technician nabbed for ‘terminating’ pregnancies; Pakistani taxi driver in kidnap bid of Kuwaiti woman

KUWAIT CITY, July 26: An Indian expatriate working as a technician was arrested by Criminal Evidences Men for using his flat in Farwaniya area to practice medicine and perform illegal abortions for expatriates. The officers received information that an Indian residing in Hawalli area had another flat in Farwaniya area where women were visiting to terminate illegitimate pregnancies. Acting on information, the flat was placed under surveillance until the report was verified, and then security operatives raided the place and arrested the suspect. They searched the apartment and recovered 480 pieces of needles and special equipment for terminating pregnancies. The suspect admitted performing abortions for several women from different nationalities. He was referred for further investigation.

Cabbie in kidnap bid?: A Pakistani taxi driver was arrested after a Kuwaiti woman accused him of kidnapping her. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received a call from a Kuwaiti woman who shouted that a taxi driver was kidnapping her on Fahaheel Road, securitymen rushed to the location. They stopped the taxi driver in Sabah Al-Salem area and arrested him. When they questioned him, he explained that the woman was arguing with him about the taxi fare and had claimed he kidnapped her just to frighten him and ensure he did not collect the fare from her. Securitymen took necessary action and a case was registered.
