Indian expats will have to pay for evacuation cost

KUWAIT CITY, May 6: The Indian government has announced that from May 7 evacuation of non resident Indians living abroad will begin.

The Indian Ministry indicated in a statement that the Indian embassies abroad are now preparing lists of those who are stranded and wanting to return to their homeland will have to bear the cost of evacuation.

Neither the flights nor Marine ships will be free and those who want to return should bear the travel cost. Besides this the passengers will be checked before boarding.

The Indian government will send 64 aircraft to the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Britain, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh and the Philippines.
