KUWAIT CITY, June 21: The Embassy of India organized a major event to mark the 11th International Day of Yoga at the Boulevard Cricket Ground in Salmiya. More than 1,500 people from various segments of society -- including diplomats, students, members of the Indian community, yoga enthusiasts, and prominent figures from Kuwait and India -- attended the event.

Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) sponsored the event, in collaboration with the Olympic Council of Asia. The event featured a unified yoga protocol and various demonstrations led by yoga instructors from Kuwait. In his remarks, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Dr. Adarsh Swaika expressed his gratitude to the Kuwaiti government for its support; indicating this is the first time the International Day of Yoga was held in a public space in Kuwait.

He also commended the participation of Sheikha Sheikha Al-Abdullah, recipient of the Padma Shri of India, in recognition of her role in promoting yoga locally and regionally. He affirmed that this year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” reflects the importance of this practice in promoting health, sustainability, and environmental awareness, in line with India’s “Life Mission” environmental protection initiative. The event included yoga competitions for all ages.Indian Embassy In Kuwait Celebrates Yoga Day With Massive Turnout
