Illegal salons, tailoring shops shut by the ministry

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 30: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has taken action against several businesses found to violate commercial regulations, following inspection campaigns led by the Commercial Control Department’s Reports Committee. According to sources speaking to Al Anba, the closures included three unlicensed tailoring establishments and several women’s beauty salons. Additionally, a retail outlet was shut down for promoting counterfeit products — a serious breach that threatens consumer trust and violates market regulations. The sources emphasized that these enforcement measures are part of the Ministry’s broader oversight strategy aimed at curbing illegal activities, protecting consumer rights, and maintaining fairness in the marketplace. They stressed that the Ministry will not tolerate any form of commercial misconduct or exploitation. Inspection teams, they noted, are continuing their field operations around the clock across various regions to ensure a safe, transparent, and trustworthy commercial environment that supports economic stability and consumer confidence.
