PARIS, July 25: Hussein Al-Musallam, President of the International Federation of Aquatics, affirmed that true investment in developing countries and cities comes through sports. He made this statement during the International Sports Forum titled “United Through Sports,” held yesterday, Thursday, alongside the 2024 Paris Olympics. French Minister of Sports Emilie Odea Castera attended the event.

Al-Musallam, hailing from Asia, pointed to the transformation of cities like Seoul, Beijing, and Doha. He noted how these cities evolved after hosting the Asian Olympic Games and the World Cup. He expressed his pleasure at being in Paris during the Olympics and on World Drowning Prevention Day. Al-Musallam highlighted that since 2021, he and his colleagues have revised the federation's strategy and vision. A new, clear strategy for swimming has been developed, emphasizing health and life-saving aspects of the sport. This strategy not only helps save lives but also reduces costs for countries.
