KUWAIT CITY, May 20: Chairperson of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on Tuesday affirmed that achieving the highest standards of safety at Kuwait International Airport remains a strategic priority, in line with government efforts to modernize infrastructure and solidify Kuwait's position as a regional hub for air navigation.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following the fifth meeting of the National Committee for Aviation Security and Facilitation, Sheikh Humoud emphasized the DGCA’s commitment to adopting top international practices in aviation security and operational efficiency.
He noted that the committee reviewed ongoing measures to ensure Kuwait International Airport's compliance with international regulations, particularly those set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Discussions also focused on strengthening coordination among relevant agencies to enhance the overall quality of services and operational procedures.
The meeting further addressed key international treaties and agreements aimed at reinforcing collaboration between domestic and international stakeholders. Sheikh Humoud stressed that these agreements support the development of a robust legal and regulatory framework, ultimately enhancing the security and safety of passengers and airport infrastructure.
