High-speed Net services eyed

KUWAIT CITY, June 24: The Ministry of State for Communications and Information Technology Affairs stressed on the importance of the Network Operations Center (DWDM) project in strengthening the infrastructure to provide high-speed Internet services to users without interruption. The ministry said in a press release on the occasion of the opening of the first phase of the Network Operations Center project in the South Sabahiya exchange, that the project aims to link between exchanges, border posts, institutions, government agencies and the civil sector.

She explained that this project will serve the infrastructure at high speeds needed by border posts, state institutions, government agencies and the private sector. It will also develop and activate a GPS service to locate tracks for cables and optical fibers when they fail. She stated that the duration of the contract for the completion of the project is three years, and work began in 2019 in the South Sabahiya divider, through a special control room, instrument rooms, and provision of training rooms.
