High-Level Indian Parliamentary Delegation to Visit Kuwait to Strengthen Security Cooperation

KUWAIT CITY, May 25: As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation and combat terrorism, Kuwait is set to welcome a high-level Indian parliamentary delegation on an official visit from May 26 to 27, 2025. The delegation, led by Shri. Baijayant Jay Panda, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, reflects India’s unified stance on addressing global security threats and reaffirming its commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms.

According to a statement from the Indian Embassy in Kuwait,  the visiting group comprises influential political figures from across India’s political spectrum, including former ministers, ambassadors, and current members of both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The diverse makeup of the delegation highlights a broad national consensus on the importance of bolstering international partnerships in security and counter-extremism efforts.

During the two-day visit, the Indian delegation is scheduled to engage in high-level discussions with senior Kuwaiti government officials and meet with representatives from Kuwaiti civil society, think tanks, media, and the Indian expatriate community. These interactions aim to deepen bilateral ties across political, social, and cultural domains, and to promote shared values in the face of regional and global challenges.

The delegation includes:

  • Baijayant Panda – MP (Lok Sabha), former Rajya Sabha member
  • Dr. Nishikant Dubey – MP and Chair of the Committee on Communications & IT
  • S. Vankun Konyak – Rajya Sabha MP and first woman from Nagaland in the Upper House
  • Rekha Sharma – MP and former Chairperson, National Commission for Women
  • Asaduddin Owaisi – MP and President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen
  • Satnam Singh Sandhu – MP and Founder Chancellor, Chandigarh University
  • Ghulam Nabi Azad – Former Union Minister, ex-Chief Minister, and Rajya Sabha member
  • Harsh Vardhan Shringla – Former Foreign Secretary and Ambassador to the U.S., Bangladesh, and Thailand

The visit underscores the growing strategic partnership between India and Kuwait, particularly in the areas of security, diplomacy, and community engagement.
