KUWAIT CITY, Aug 7: Kuwait is expected to experience a spell of hot and humid weather conditions through the weekend, accompanied by a chance of scattered light rain and light fog in some areas, especially along the coast, according to the Meteorology Department.
Acting Director of the Meteorology Department Dharar Al-Ali told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Thursday that the country will be affected by a hot and humid air mass, which will increase humidity levels, particularly in coastal and nearby areas. This may lead to light fog forming during the late-night and early morning hours.
Al-Ali said weather maps also indicate a gradual increase in low to medium cloud cover, with a possibility of scattered light rain across some regions. Rain may be thundery at times, with precipitation chances increasing from Friday evening and continuing intermittently over the weekend.
Thursday forecast
During the day on Thursday, the weather is expected to be hot and humid in coastal areas, with southeasterly to variable winds at speeds between 8 and 35 km/h. Some scattered clouds may appear, with a slight chance of light rain. Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 44°C and 46°C. Sea conditions will be light to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 1 to 5 feet.
Thursday night will remain hot to very humid, particularly along the coast, with partly cloudy skies. Winds will be southeasterly to variable, light to moderate at 8 to 32 km/h. There is a chance of scattered light rain and light fog in some areas. Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 31°C and 33°C. The sea will be light to moderate with waves between 1 and 4 feet.
Friday outlook
Friday’s daytime conditions will continue to be hot and humid, especially near the coast, and partly cloudy. Winds will shift between northeasterly and southeasterly, light to moderate in strength, at 10 to 38 km/h. Scattered light rain remains a possibility. Temperatures will range between 42°C and 44°C, and the sea will remain light to moderate with waves between 2 and 5 feet.
In the evening, the weather will remain hot to hot and humid, with variable southeasterly winds blowing at 8 to 38 km/h. There is a slight chance of rain, possibly thundery at times, along with fog in some areas. Nighttime temperatures will remain between 31°C and 33°C.
Saturday forecast
On Saturday, conditions will continue to be hot and humid, particularly in coastal zones, with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Winds will be southeasterly to variable, light to moderate, occasionally active, with speeds ranging between 8 and 40 km/h. Scattered rain may occur, possibly accompanied by thunder. Daytime temperatures are expected to range from 41°C to 43°C, with sea waves between 2 and 5 feet.
Saturday night is forecasted to remain hot and humid with partly cloudy skies. Winds will be southeasterly to variable at 8 to 35 km/h. There is a chance of light fog and scattered rain, possibly thundery. Minimum temperatures are expected to fall between 30°C and 32°C. Sea conditions will be light to moderate, with waves ranging from 1 to 4 feet.
