HH the Amir of Kuwait congratulates Pakistan on National Day

KUWAIT CITY, March 23: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent on Saturday a cable of congratulations to the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari on his country’s National Day. In the cable, His Highness the Amir expressed sincere wishes of progress and development to the leadership and Pakistani people.

Meanwhile, a prestigious flag-hoisting ceremony was organized in the Embassy of Pakistan on the occasion of the 84th National Day of the country. Ambassador Malik Muhammad Farooq hoisted the Pakistan national flag in the presence of a large gathering of Pakistani community members from all walks of life. During the ceremony, special messages from the President, Prime Minister, and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out. In their messages, the President and Prime Minister reminded the vision and determination of our forefathers.

Special homage was paid to the commitment and sacrifices made by Qauid-e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his companions, who worked tirelessly towards transforming Allama Iqbal’s dream into reality. The leadership remembered the struggle of Kashmiri brethren in pursuit of self-determination and freedom from Indian occupation forces. They expressed solidarity with the victims of the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza and called for an immediate cessation of senseless brutality against unarmed Palestinian women, children, and the elderly.

In his remarks, Ambassador Malik Muhammad Farooq felicitated all fellow Pakistanis and highlighted the significance of the National Day of Pakistan. He also paid tribute to our forefathers, whose sacrifices led to the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of South Asia. He said that we are celebrating Pakistan Day in the Holy month of Ramadan – the month in which Pakistan came into being. In the end, prayers were offered for peace, progress and prosperity of our homeland.
