Kuwaiti shooters perform well in different categories

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 14: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s Eighth International Shooting Grand Prix concluded at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex with 420 shooters from 42 countries competing in various categories.

In this year’s event, Kuwaiti shooters performed well in different categories, such as pistol and trap with Talal Al-Turqi bagging a gold medal while Khaled Al-Modhaf won the bronze.

Other local talents are Hamad Al-Namshan and Saad Al-Ajmi who won silver and bronze medals respectively in the men’s 50 meters pistol.

Meanwhile, Secretary-General of the Kuwaiti and Arab shooting associations Obeid Al-Oseimi extolled the unlimited support given by HH the Amir to the Kuwaiti shooting sports and the championships which Kuwait hosts. He pointed out this support plays a major role in the achievements of local talents while promoting the sports locally, regionally and globally.

Al-Oseimi highlighted the organizational and technical success of the eighth edition of the shooting grand prix, affirming that representatives of participating countries praised the championship which is attributed to the successes of the Kuwait Shooting Sport Club (KSSC) in organizing such events.
