KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir’s 58th football cup tournament will kick off on Thursday, with the participation of 15 clubs and no second chance for losers.
The draw by Kuwait Football Association last November divided the teams into two groups: Group A includes Kuwait Club, Khaitan, Al-Sulaibikhat, Al-Tadamon, Kazma, Al-Yarmouk, Al-Sahel and Al-Fahaheel.
While, Group B involves: Al-Jahraa, Burgan, Al-Arabi, Al-Nasr, Al-Qadsiya, Al-Shabab and Al-Salmiya.
On the opening day, Kazma will take on Al-Nasr while Al-Sahel play Al-Qadsiya.On Friday, Al-Sulaibikhat play Al-Jahraa and Al-Tadamon against Al-Arabi.
Saturday matches involve Khaitan vs Al-Fahaheel and Burgan against Al-Salmiya.
Al-Yarmouk play Al-Shabab on Sunday.
His Highness the Amir Cup was first launched 1961-1962 season. Al-Qadsiya have won it 16 times whereas Al-Arabi snatched it 15 times and Kuwait 14 times.
