RIYADH, Nov 11: Saudi Arabia hosted the inaugural Women in Sports Conference, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Sports in partnership with “Cotinos,” an initiative dedicated to expanding sports participation and breaking barriers through innovation.

The conference was inaugurated by Saudi Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Adwaa Al-Arefi, alongside the ongoing Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh. The three-day event brought together over 150 participants and 20 speakers from sports, media, business, and politics across the region.

Kuwaiti Olympic Committee member and Chair of the Women in Sports Committee, Fatima Hayat, joined the conference, along with Kuwaiti international handball referee Maali Al-Anzi, alongside numerous prominent Arab and Islamic sports figures.

The conference seeks to strengthen the influence of women in sports by unifying voices, breaking barriers, and creating pathways to leadership and inclusion. The initiative also aims to spotlight bold talent, drive institutional change, and foster a more inclusive and impactful sporting environment.
