Gul crowned champion of the 17th National Squash Championship

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: Khaitan’s Qadeer Gul claimed the men’s open title at the 17th National Squash Championship, which concluded recently at the glass court of the Kuwait Squash Federation in South Surra. Joul triumphed in a thrilling final, defeating Al-Qurain’s Abdulrahman Al-Maghribi 3-2. Yarmouk’s Jassem Al-Gharib secured third place, while Al-Qurain’s Shaheen Osama finished fourth.

Following the final, Federation President Waleed Al-Sumai’i, Vice President Khaled Al-Habib, and Secretary General Hamed Al-Omran presented the trophies and medals to the winners.

In the youth categories, Al-Qurain dominated: Khaled Al-Fawzan won the U-19 title, Abdullah Hani took the U-17 crown, and Ahmed Ranjin clinched first place in the U-15 competition. Teammate Salman Al-Saleh added another trophy by winning the U-13 division.

The U-11 category saw Khaitan’s Fahad Joul claim top honors, followed by Al-Qurain’s Mohammed Bilal in second and Al-Arabi’s Abdulwahab Asad in third.

In the women’s division, promising young player Aisha Al-Muthen impressed with a strong performance to secure the title. Salwa Club’s Sarah Al-Ali placed second, while her teammate Farida Hazem finished third.

Prizes for the women’s competition were awarded by Squash Women’s Committee member Asmaa Ashour.
