Guard arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs into prison

KUWAIT CITY, March 5: Personnel from the General Administration of Correctional Institutions have taken into custody an unidentified trooper who works as a guard at the prison facility for attempting to smuggle narcotics into the facility. The Al-Seyassah daily said the suspect has been handed over to the concerned authority for legal action. A security source said the soldier was arrested during a random inspection campaign. The suspect reportedly showed signs of unease during the campaign and was promptly body searched. During the initial investigation, he admitted that he intended to smuggle narcotic drugs to a prisoner in exchange for a sum of money.
