KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1: The Ministry of Interior has begun issuing notifications through the “Sahel” app to individuals whose citizenship has been revoked under Article 8, informing them that the grace period for using their Kuwaiti passports has officially expired as of Wednesday, October 1. Affected individuals are now required to submit their passports to the General Directorate of Nationality and Travel Documents.
According to security sources speaking to Al-Rai, following the expiration of the grace period, passports of individuals whose citizenship has been revoked will no longer be valid for travel outside Kuwait. Only those holding Kuwaiti passports under Article 8 who are currently abroad will be allowed to return to the country. Upon arrival at airports, land, or sea ports, these individuals must immediately surrender their passports.
The Ministry’s notification comes as part of its ongoing efforts to enforce nationality regulations and ensure proper documentation compliance. Authorities have stressed that failure to comply with the passport submission requirement may lead to further legal measures.
