DOHA, May 5, (KUNA): Kuwaiti athletes delivered strong performances at the 18th Gulf Youth Athletics Championship, currently underway in Doha and set to continue through Tuesday.
Abdullah Al-Azmi claimed the gold medal in the long jump with an impressive leap of 7.09 meters, while his compatriot Saleh Al-Khabbaz earned the bronze with a jump of 6.93 meters.
In the hammer throw event, Suleiman Al-Shamroukh captured the bronze medal, setting a new personal best of 61.47 meters.
Meanwhile, Abdulatif Al-Failakawi secured the silver medal in the 800-meter race, also achieving a personal record of 1:51.58.
The championship began earlier last week in the Qatari capital, drawing youth athletes from across the Gulf region.
