KUWAIT CITY, July 8: Criminal security authorities have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend an unknown individual who stole items worth more than KD 85 from a store located inside a gas station. Surveillance footage captured the suspect committing the theft calmly and confidently.

According to a security source, the use of biometric fingerprint technology is being considered to help identify the perpetrator, particularly as the video footage clearly shows the suspect's facial features. The source noted that this approach was successfully used in previous cases, where biometric data led to the identification of a similar suspect.

In the official report, a 29-year-old Kuwaiti citizen, representing a company that operates several branches within gas stations, stated that the theft occurred at 3:00 a.m. on the 19th of June. The suspect, described as having a light brown complexion, of average height and slim build, was wearing a black T-shirt and light gray shorts. He entered the store and stole 10 pieces of chocolate, 5 bottles of tanning cream, and 4 lighters before leaving without paying. The stolen items totaled KD 85.600.

The company representative submitted the surveillance video to the authorities. However, it remains unclear whether the theft was discovered by an employee at the time or later during routine surveillance review. Additionally, no information was provided about the suspect’s vehicle, including its type or license plate number, which might have been captured by the cameras. The investigation is ongoing.
