LOS ANGELES, Jan 14, (Agencies): Kit Harington has revealed that he was diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) during a stint at a rehabilitation center. The 37-year-old actor opened up about his struggles with alcoholism, social anxiety, and mental health challenges, particularly during his time on Game of Thrones, on The Hidden 20%, a forthcoming podcast focused on neurodivergence set to launch on Jan 17.

In an article published by a UK newspaper on Saturday, which provided a glimpse into the upcoming podcast episode, Harington shared with The Hidden 20% host Ben Branson that he had previously attempted another rehabilitation program before seeking help at an American clinic, where he received his ADHD diagnosis.

Reflecting on the turning point in his life, Harington stated in the podcast, “I realized that my life was hinging on this. Luckily it was the right place at the right time. I managed to forge a new life from there.”

During the conversation with host Ben Branson, the actor discussed his earlier rehab experience, not specifying the date of the stay that led to his ADHD diagnosis. Harington emphasized that he is now a present and sober father to his two children—a son aged 2½ and a daughter aged 6 months, whom he shares with his wife and Game of Thrones co-star Rose Leslie. Despite challenges posed by his ADHD, Harington expressed his commitment to being actively involved in his children’s lives.

ADHD, characterized by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity, poses challenges for Harington, especially in busy environments where focusing on one person becomes difficult.
