KUWAIT CITY, March 26: The inspection and monitoring teams for charitable work recently found four boxes for collecting cash donations in mosques, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a reliable source from the Ministry of Social Affairs. The source said these boxes do not belong to any charitable organization and do not bear the name of any party. On the measures being taken, the source revealed the Charitable Societies Department has confiscated the funds and a violation is recorded in each case; including the name of the mosque, time and the collected amount, and then submitted to the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs to take the necessary action concerning the Imam of the mosque where the violation was discovered and about the confiscated funds, which will later be handed over to one of the charitable work agencies.

The source confirmed that the charitable organizations participating in the charitable project for the month of Ramadan are committed to the rules and regulations, as they did not commit any serious violations. The source pointed out the only observation recorded is the failure of ‘mandoobs’ to follow the approved fundraising schedule for mosques.
