Football Mayhem in Kuwait: Police Nab 12 After Stadium Riot

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 29: Security forces arrested 12 individuals involved in the riots that broke out during the match between Kuwait Sports Club and Qadisiya Sports Club at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium on Friday, as part of the Zain Premier League, reports Al- Seyassah daily.

In a statement posted on its official X account, the Ministry of Interior explained that the match witnessed verbal altercations, clashes, and physical confrontations between members of both teams, leading to public disorder and a crowd storming the pitch. Special security forces intervened to disperse the crowd and brought the situation under control. The 12 individuals, including the presidents of both clubs, three administrative staff members, and seven relatives of the administrators, have been referred to the concerned authorities in connection with the Ardiya misdemeanor case.

They were detained and charged with insulting a public official during the performance of their duties, resisting a public official, and committing acts of assault and verbal abuse. The ministry affirmed that it will not tolerate any violations that disrupt public order or threaten the safety of spectators at sporting events, and it will take firm action against such behavior.
