Officials celebrate the recognition of the Arab Volleyball Federation.

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28 The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has formally recognized the Arab Volleyball Federation, marking the first time an Arab body in team sports has received such status. The move is expected to strengthen the sport’s standing and boost its development across the region.

The recognition was announced during a signing ceremony attended by the Federation’s Chairman, Lieutenant General Sheikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.

Meanwhile, Assistant Secretary of the Kuwait Volleyball Association, Nayef Al-Khmeili, congratulated the volleyball family on the start of the new season.

“We are delighted to welcome all teams, players, and fans of volleyball,” Al-Khmeili said, emphasizing that the association’s focus this year is on enhancing competitiveness, fostering sportsmanship, and creating an environment that reflects the ambitions of athletes and supporters. He added that in recent months, the association and its committees have updated regulations and expanded training programs for referees and coaches to improve both technical and administrative performance.

Al-Khmeili expressed hope for a season filled with strong competition and urged fans to support their teams, uphold sporting values, and contribute to making the season a success, wishing good luck to all clubs.

In today’s second-round fixtures of the Federation Championship, Kuwait Club will face Yarmouk at 5:00 p.m., followed by Burgan taking on Sulaibikhat at 7:00 p.m.
