KUWAIT CITY, Sept 29: The first Asiri Carom Tournament recently concluded, featuring 128 players selected from a pool of 580 participants through a draw. The Al-Juma team, consisting of Mohammed and Farouk Al-Juma, claimed the tournament title and the Qassim Asiri Prize. In contrast, the Dabour team secured second place with Abdullah and Saleh Al-Marhoun and the Abdul Aziz Asiri Prize. The Al-Sajma team, comprising Mohammed and Shamlan Al-Filkawi, took third place.

Tournament sponsor, Ammar Abdul Aziz Asiri emphasized that the event aimed to revive cultural heritage, highlighting the widespread popularity of carom among all age groups. He noted that the tournament showcased high technical skill levels and attracted a large audience, reflecting the community's deep passion for the game. Asiri also stressed the importance of hosting such competitions to provide productive activities for young people, adding that carom is a traditional game from India passed down through the years by earlier generations.
