Finance minister to attend 2019 AIIB annual meet on July 12-13

KUWAIT CITY, July 11: Minister of Finance Dr Nayef Al-Hajraf will represent the State of Kuwait in the annual meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) which will be held for the first time outside Asia in Luxembourg on July 12-13.

According to a press release, the theme of the 2019 AIIB Annual Meeting is “Cooperation and Connectivity” in recognition of the economic and social benefits to be realized through better connectivity within and between countries and regions, including Europe and Asia.

The State of Kuwait is being considered as a permanent member of the annual meetings of AIIB, after the National Assembly approved in 2018 the memorandum of understanding between Kuwait and China for the former to be a member of AIIB
