KUWAIT CITY, Jan 22: A 33-year old Filipina woman tried to commit suicide after she was kept captive for four days inside an apartment in Hawally area, reports Al-Seyassah daily. According to an officer of Hawally Fire Station Captain Shamlan Al-Hassawi, when they received a call from a passerby about a woman on the verge of jumping from a building, a fire team rushed to the location and succeeded in stopping a Filipina woman from jumping from an apartment on the second floor of a residential building. After medical examinations, they referred her to securitymen. Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman was held captive for four days inside the apartment. Further investigations are ongoing in this regard.
Docus forged: A Somali expatriate born in 1994 was arrested for violating the residency law, reports Al- Seyassah daily. According to security sources, the suspect was arrested by Rabya police officers who checked his details to discover he is in the country on dependant visa. They referred him to the Violations Monitoring Department under the guidance of Director General Brigadier Saoud Al-Khatheer. Securitymen summoned his mother to take his passport and rectify his illegal status. Investigations with her and her two sons revealed that the woman is not the real mother of the suspect but her aunt. She had carried out the residency procedures using forged documents. The suspects were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
