KUWAIT CITY, Nov 6: The Public Prosecution has transferred a well-known actress and social media influencer to the Central Prison after ordering her detention for 21 days pending investigation in a state security case. The action follows the circulation of an audio clip, posted on her social media account, in which she allegedly used phrases considered insulting to Kuwait, constituting an offense punishable under the country’s internal state security laws.
Her conviction or acquittal will depend on the technical analysis currently being conducted by the Criminal Evidence Department to determine whether the audio clip can be definitively attributed to her. The clip remains accessible on her account, and authorities have been urged to block it promptly to prevent its misuse by individuals hostile to Kuwait.
