KUWAIT CITY, July 16: Facial recognition is now a mandatory procedure for employees at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to verify their attendance. Sources from DGCA revealed that this measure is in line with the circular issued on May 29, requiring all employees in the directorate to go to the new administrative building in Subhan to register their facial features as per the schedule.
Sources told the newspaper that several employees faced obstacles in completing the registration due to failure to adhere to the schedule or for reasons related to work conditions and shift systems in some sectors. Sources said this has affected the regularity of the attendance procedures. In a related development, the Civil Aviation Workers Union presented an official request to the DGCA Director General, Eng. Hamoud Al-Sabah to extend the facial features registration period for the employees.
