KUWAIT CITY, Nov 30: The 45th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit in Kuwait has drawn extensive media attention, with Gulf, Arab, and international media outlets converging to cover the event. This wide coverage reflects the summit's significance in addressing pivotal regional and international issues.
At the media center hosted at the St. Regis Hotel, Gulf, Arab, and Turkish journalists highlighted the summit's importance in fostering Gulf unity and strengthening cooperation among member states. In interviews with Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Friday, several journalists underscored the vital role of media in articulating Gulf aspirations and promoting integration.
Bahraini journalist Ghazi Al-Ghariri expressed his enthusiasm for covering the summit, describing its unique atmosphere as a convergence of media professionals during a critical regional event. Al-Ghariri emphasized the need for decisions that enhance Gulf cooperation across various fields, saying, "This summit comes at an important time in the history of the region, which requires a unified Gulf voice to shape regional and global policies."
Saudi journalist Abdulrahman Al-Shatri highlighted the summit's special significance, noting its alignment with Kuwait’s efforts under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He expressed optimism that the summit would mark a new phase of fruitful Gulf cooperation and praised the advanced facilities provided at the media center by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information.
Al-Shatri also appreciated the warm hospitality extended to participants, including a welcome by Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi. "The hospitality and organization reflect Kuwait's commitment to ensuring seamless media coverage," he remarked.
Qatari media professional Faleh Al-Hajri commended Kuwait's efforts in setting up a comprehensive media center to facilitate global coverage of the summit. "The Gulf summit always receives significant international attention, with its decisions influencing both leaders and peoples worldwide," he noted.
Ali Al-Hammadi from the UAE reflected on the sense of cohesion among Gulf media professionals attending the summit. "We are united under one hope—to achieve progress and greater harmony for the people of the Arabian Gulf," he said. Similarly, Omani journalist Ali Saar praised the advanced preparations in Kuwait and the summit's slogan, The Future... Gulf, which symbolizes a shared vision for the region's prosperity.
Nahar Al-Adwani, a Kuwaiti journalist, emphasized the role of extensive media coverage in raising public awareness about the summit's decisions and their developmental implications. "The gathering of media professionals here also strengthens ties and facilitates the exchange of ideas," he added.
Emirati journalist Lutfi Al-Zaabi described the media center as "very distinctive," noting that it offers cutting-edge technology and logistical support for covering the summit. He highlighted the exhibition accompanying the event, showcasing Gulf heritage and traditions, as a testament to the unity and shared identity of Gulf nations.
Moroccan journalist Abdel Bari Antar praised the Kuwait Media Center as an integrated platform equipped with advanced technology to support journalists. "It provides optimal conditions for conveying the summit's significance and Kuwait's pivotal role in promoting Gulf unity," he stated.
Jordanian media professional Osama Al-Rantisi echoed these sentiments, describing the media center as a model of precision and organization. He emphasized the importance of this summit in addressing critical issues in the Middle East and beyond, noting Kuwait's ability to project a clear Gulf stance on these matters.
Turkish journalist Rukia Celik commended the summit's organization, from reception at the airport to operations at the media center. "This summit is not only of interest to Gulf nations but also to the international community, given the GCC's role in addressing regional and global challenges," she observed. Celik expressed hope for a future of enhanced stability and progress for the Gulf region.
On Friday, Minister Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi officially inaugurated the media center and exhibition accompanying the 45th Gulf Summit. The center hosts over 80 journalists and media professionals, offering state-of-the-art facilities to ensure seamless coverage. The exhibition features seven pavilions representing the member states and the GCC General Secretariat, showcasing their media achievements and milestones.
