DOHA, Sep 9: According to media reports, the Israeli military has claimed responsibility for an airstrike in Qatar that allegedly targeted Hamas leaders. Al Jazeera reported the strike, while Reuters quoted witnesses who said several explosions were heard in Doha on Tuesday and smoke was visible over the Katara neighborhood.

Meanwhile, Qatar's Foreign Ministry stated, "The State of Qatar strongly condemns the cowardly Israeli attack that targeted residential buildings housing several members of the Political Bureau of Hamas in the Qatari capital, Doha. This criminal assault constitutes a blatant violation of all international laws and norms and poses a serious threat to the security and safety of Qataris and residents in Qatar.

Earlier, Qatar strongly condemned Israeli Strikes on Several Sites in Syria, stating, "The State of Qatar strongly condemns the Israeli occupation forces’ bombardment of several sites in Syria’s Homs and Latakia provinces, describing the attacks as a blatant violation of Syrian sovereignty, a clear breach of international law, and a serious threat to regional security.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges the international community to take immediate action to compel the Israeli occupation to comply with international legitimacy and to cease its repeated attacks on Syrian territory, in order to prevent further escalation and tension in the region.
The Ministry reaffirms Qatar’s full support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, as well as the aspirations of the Syrian people for security and stability."
