KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: The Ministry of Interior says its statistics show 87,140 vehicles plying on the roads of Kuwait are owned by expatriates whose residence permits have either been cancelled, they are no longer in Kuwait or have died, reports Al-Rai daily. The Security Media Department has now draw the attention of all those who own or use such vehicles must visit the General Traffic Department to transfer the ownership of the vehicle, cancel it or renew it, based on an official power of attorney. In the event this procedure is not taken, a violation will be issued, and the vehicle will be impounded in accordance with Article (207) of the Traffic Law, which states that a motorized vehicle or car of any kind may be impounded if it is caught running on the road in case the driver does not hold a driving license or without valid insurance. The administration may also sell it in a public auction according to followed legal procedures.
