KUWAIT CITY, Nov 21: In a recent series of surprise crackdowns, a total of 263 expats were arrested for violating the Residency and Work Law. 103 expats were found selling construction materials without authorization in undesignated areas along the main road to the Al-Mutlaa region. This unlawful activity was discovered during surprise inspections conducted by the General Administration of Residency Affairs Investigations, a joint effort involving the tripartite committee, the workforce, and Kuwait Municipality.

As a result of their arrests, violations were issued against the offending workers by the workforce, and Kuwait Municipality took action to remove encroachments and unapproved building materials. Furthermore, in the Farwaniya, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, and Amghara regions, the Department of Research and Investigation, along with the joint tripartite committee, successfully apprehended 160 individuals for violating residency and labor laws. Legal measures are currently underway to address these infractions.
